Who will win the Great British Bake Off 2015 final?

Let the cake wars begin as Nadiya, Tamal and Ian strive to create the ultimate showstopper and left the Bake Off trophy. No soggy bottoms allowed.

Just over 9 hours to go until the Bake Off begins. Already salivating at the thought? Us too. As the long wait continues, here's all the important things you need to know about finalists Nadiya, Tamal and Ian before they take to the tent...

There can be no soggy bottoms, icing in the oven (oh Mat, we miss you) or decidedly dodgy pastries. Judges Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood will be looking for perfection.

    10/7/2015 9:56:13 AM
One of tonight's highlights is sure to be Nadiya's facial expressions, always dramatic, always amusing.
    10/7/2015 9:57:38 AM

Five bakers made a portrait of Paul Hollywood using 1,614 cupcakes. It took 150 hours. Round of applause!

    10/7/2015 12:57:11 PM
Mary will be expecting to sample some seriously delicious cakes in tonight's show, but the 80-year-old swears by "everything in moderation" to stay in shape. Can't be having a "large" person presenting, can we Mary?
    10/7/2015 1:01:04 PM
Baking firefighter Mat (with one 't') is psyched for tonight too. So psyched in fact, that he's posting photos of the team doing the Can-Can on the Bake Off lawn...
    10/7/2015 1:39:20 PM

If you think the GBBO final is too PC why don't you go and live somewhere else?

The IndependentWith Nadiya, Tamal and Ian competing in the final, not only are we set for a tense evening of food porn, but also a moment of pride. The three finalists are emblematic of the successful multi-racial, multi-faith democracy of which we can all be proud.
    10/7/2015 2:13:18 PM
Lots of Bake-Off fans seem to be preparing parties in honour of the final tonight. Can we come?
    10/7/2015 2:15:34 PM
Bake Off party prep is under way! Flapjacks are in the oven and smell delicious ????????????☕️ @BritishBakeOff ... @BegumNadiya to win! ????
Carried baking ingredients all the way home to make some @TanyaBurr cookies for the Bake Off party tonight ????????????????????????????????
Just one hour to go, the suspense is just too much! Will the finalists crumble like flaky biscuits under the pressure? It all rests on 60 minutes in the Bake Off tent.

tonight is the last time im going to see tamal on tv and I don't think im physically prepared for this heartache #GBBOFinal
Don't hold us to this one but from Twitter, we reckon Nadiya is your favourite, followed by Tamal, then Ian. It's going to be a tough call. Rather you than us, Mez and Pez.
    10/7/2015 6:26:03 PM
While you're counting down the final half an hour till baking begins, how about applying for next year yourself? Go on, have some self-belief.
    10/7/2015 6:30:53 PM
News just in - rumour has it, the bakers will be making iced buns and mille-feuille (a really tricky, razor-thin, French puff pastry job). Might have had to look that last one up. Shhh.
    10/7/2015 6:35:27 PM
They look so much smaller in real life! Apart from you Ian, you're really tall.
    10/7/2015 6:37:51 PM

    10/7/2015 6:48:23 PM
It is a shame that Prison Paul has sadly left us. His bread lion is definitely up there in 'bakes of the series'.
    10/7/2015 6:49:31 PM
    Hurrah! It's time!
    10/7/2015 7:01:22 PM
Daring flavours, ingenuity, and drama-inducing risks. Tamal, show us what you've got.
    10/7/2015 7:02:48 PM
Ooh, Nadiya was Star Baker three times. Hopefully that'll give her a much-needed confidence boost going into the final. But she will have to beat Ian, the flavours man, who let's face it is blatantly going to bring in loads more homegrown goods to show off, isn't he?
    10/7/2015 7:03:59 PM
Guys, Ian has brought a journal with him. He's taking this seriously.
    10/7/2015 7:04:50 PM

Can they come up with better buns than these?

    10/7/2015 7:05:58 PM
Cinammon and apple, toffee and marmalade buns from Tamal. No flavours in the icing from him, Paul does not look happy. He just gave the 'scary' look of ERROR!
    10/7/2015 7:06:34 PM
Paul is absolutely loving being a judge in the final isn't he? Piling on the pressure and it's less than ten minutes in.
    10/7/2015 7:09:23 PM
Oh dear, Nadiya struggling to even pronounce what she's doing with her iced buns there. Keep calm and carry on Nades.
    10/7/2015 7:10:53 PM
Paul likes his buns touching, says Ian, very matter-of-factly. Whatever you say Ian, whatever you say.
    10/7/2015 7:11:58 PM
Tamal saying 'disaaaastrous' reminds us of Craig Revel-Horwood from Strictly. Only a baking version. Disaaaaastrous darling!
    10/7/2015 7:13:34 PM
if Ian wins Bake Off over queen of sass Nadiya and cutie pie Tamal I'm suing the BBC
Just found out Tamal from Bake Off is gay... There goes my marriage plans ????
String up the bunting! That BUN-TING is over! Mel, you're a top babe.
    10/7/2015 7:16:12 PM
Ian's icing doesn't go with his filling and worse, he's left the sugar out! Absolute shocker.
    10/7/2015 7:17:18 PM
It’d be a lot easier to just go to Sainsbury’s. #GBBOFinal
"The cream is spilling out and it's a sheer joy to eat" #BakeOffInnuendo #GBBOFinal
Mille-feuilles up next, with raspberries, natch. Who even knows what a mille-feuille is? Sounds even worse than the souffle and we all know how that went down.
    10/7/2015 7:21:46 PM

    10/7/2015 7:23:01 PM
Nadiya's mille-feuille officially have layers, it's going to be okay. How she's going to cut them, is another thing altogether.
