  • Andy Murray beats Novak Djokovic: 6-4 7-5 6-4
    • Murray wins in straight-sets to become the first British winner at Wimbledon since Fred Perry in 1936
    7/7/2013 10:53:28 AM
  • *Murray 6-4 1-2 Djokovic:
More unforced errors from Djokovic and he's already up to 21. Murray has a 15-30 lead but Djokovic does well to get back level. Murray challenges a serve, but it's in, and he takes the game comfortably in the end.
    7/7/2013 2:34:47 PM
  • So in the poll, you still think Djokovic will win in 5, with 35% of the vote. Murray in 5 and Djokovic in straight-sets has 29% each, so I'm afraid some of you are already wrong, and just 6% has Murray in straight-sets. For those of you maths-whizzes out there, that's 99%, The heat is getting to our poll machine it seems.
    7/7/2013 2:39:25 PM
  • Murray 6-4 1-3 Djokovic*:
Djokovic breaks Murray for a second-set lead, and we've got a game here folks. He's clearly pumped up, and looking to press on now in an attempt to level up the match. Again, he seems to be attacking Murray's second -serve.
    7/7/2013 2:40:43 PM
  • *Murray 6-4 1-4 Djokovic:
Djokovic is down again, but he's ok as Murray gets to 15-30 and on second-serve. The Serb fights back again though, serve-and-vollying to move ahead, and he holds serve at an important time if he's to level things up.
    7/7/2013 2:43:55 PM
  • Murray 6-4 2-4 Djokovic*:
Murray holds a crucial game if he is to get back into the set. He takes the game to 15 when Djokovic hits long, and he now joins his opponent in wearing a cap to shield him from the baking sunshine. Change of racket too for the new balls in play, and he'll now go after Djokovic to try and break back.
    7/7/2013 2:49:29 PM
  • *Murray 6-4 3-4 Djokovic:
Big point for Murray as he hits back-to-back winners to move to 0-30. He can't return the next serve much to his annoyance, and the next point is bizarre. Murray chases the ball, and strikes it into the net, forcing it to flick up and into Djokovic's racket for the point. A tad lucky, but two break-points...but he can't take the first when he hits the net, and he replicates the shot on his second break-point to concede deuce. A third break-point for Murray after another strong forehand, and it's a double-fault that sees MURRAY BREAKS DJOKOVIC!
    7/7/2013 2:56:49 PM
  • Murray 6-4 4-4 Djokovic*:
Djokovic thinks he's got Murray, but his drop-shot lands wide. The Brit finds the net again mid-rally, and it's 30-15. Djokovic is kicking on, and an overhead volley wins him a break-point. Murray thinks he's got an ace which Djokovic challenges, but it's good! Break-point saved, He hits long and gives Djokovic a second one though, but his own overhead volley saves it, and he holds to draw level.
    7/7/2013 3:07:20 PM
  • *Murray 6-4 4-5 Djokovic:
Great composure from Djokovic as he races through to hold serve to love. Applies the pressure back to Murray, and he must now hold serve to stay in the set.
    7/7/2013 3:11:01 PM
  • Murray 6-4 5-5 Djokovic*:
Djokovic ramps up the pressure taking the first point, but Murray responds with a 131 mph ace. He hits a defensive lob just long for 30-30, but his ability at the moment to stay in the point when it looks gone is helping him hugely. Djokovic returns into the net, and the next is long to give Murray the game.
    7/7/2013 3:15:48 PM
  • *Murray 6-4 6-5 Djokovic:
Murray pulls out a magnificent backhand that has Djokovic all over the place, and he follows with the next point with a volley winner. Djokovic is furious, but he has no challenges left to see if he was right. He's wrong, anyway, so justice is done as haweye shows us Murrays shot found the line. Break-point for Murray when Djokovic finds the net...but the No 1 takes some aggression out in that fierce volley. Second break-point...AND HE'S GOT IT! MURRAY WILL SERVE FOR A TWO-SET LEAD!
    7/7/2013 3:20:18 PM
  • Any Murray fans out there?

    7/7/2013 3:22:15 PM
  • Murray 6-4 7-5 Djokovic*:
It's another big serve that Djokovic can't return to move Murray on to 30-0, and Djokovic returns the next long to give Murray 3 set-points...which he sees out with an ace! MURRAY TAKES A TWO-SET LEAD!
    7/7/2013 3:24:25 PM
  • Well well well. Murray battles back from 4-1 down to take the set 7-5 after winning six out of seven games at the end of that second set. It's far from over though, as we're reminded that in Murray's victorious US Open final, Djokovic fought back from two-sets down to draw level. How's everyone feeling out there? Nervous yet?
    7/7/2013 3:26:45 PM
  • All going well so far...
Only one set against the best tennis player in the world mind...

    7/7/2013 3:28:31 PM
  • For those interested, that set took an hour and nine minutes. It's tiring just watching this match! Djokovic to start us off in the third.

    7/7/2013 3:30:41 PM
  • *Murray 6-4 7-5 1-0 Djokovic:
Djokovic is definitely rattled, as he makes two errors including a simple backhand into the net. But he shows what champions are made of, smashing a winner away from Murray before the Brit can't return his serve to draw level. Murray goes down the line and Djokovic can only volley wide, and it's an early break-point for Murray...he's got it! Has he? The ball is called good to Murray's bemusement, and he challenges...IT'S OUT! An early break for Murray!
    7/7/2013 3:35:32 PM
  • Murray 6-4 7-5 2-0 Djokovic*:
Djokovic hits long twice to give Murray two simple points, and he hits wide to give Murray 40-0. It doesn't take him long to hold serve as Djokovic hits high and wide to give Murray the game to love.
    7/7/2013 3:38:21 PM
  • *Murray 6-4 7-5 2-1 Djokovic:
The world No 1 is on the ropes, and he's all over the place. He starts with a double-fault and then an error and Murray is 0-30 up. But again, he fights back and a beautiful winner down the left catches Murray out to draw level. He regains his composure and sees out the game - hugely important for Djokovic's confidence.
    7/7/2013 3:42:16 PM
  • Murray 6-4 7-5 2-2 Djokovic*:
Murray halts a point as he's convinced the ball is wrong, but it's found the line and costs him as he then goes 0-30. Djokovic returns one long, and it's a huge serve that sees the Serb return into the crowd for 30-30. Beautiful, just beautiful. Both players struggle to stay in the point, and end up at the net, Murray goes for the drop-shot, only see another go past him for a break-point...GOT IT! Murray should have finished that point but he volleys wide, and Djokovic is back in the set.
    7/7/2013 3:48:23 PM
  • *Murray 6-4 7-5 2-3 Djokovic:
Djokovic on the attack, but it's too much and he hits long - his 35th unforced error! He beats Murray all-ends up though with a lovely drop-shot from the baseline that Murray doesn't even run for, and he lands his third ace of the match to go ahead. Murray rushes to the net and tries to volley across-court but it's into the net, and a whipped forehand sees out the game.
    7/7/2013 3:51:34 PM
  • A few worried fans by the looks of things...

    7/7/2013 3:53:38 PM
  • Murray 6-4 7-5 2-4 Djokovic*:
These are worrying times for Murray, as suddenly his shots are the ones that aren't finding the line. But he responds with a good shot down the left that passes Djokovic as he stretches, yet follows it by hitting into the net. Two break-points for Djokovic...and he hits into the net again! DJOKOVIC BREAKS MURRAY FOR A SECOND TIME IN THE THIRD SET!
    7/7/2013 3:57:07 PM
  • *Murray 6-4 7-5 3-4 Djokovic:
Can Murray fight back again? It's a long way, but he's out to 0-30 with a lovely winner to give him a chance. He just finds the net though when he goes for a volleyed drop-shot, but he sends a two-handed backhand across-court for two break-points of his own. Djokovic saves the first after a powerful first serve, but HE TAKES THE SECOND when Djokovic hits long!
    7/7/2013 4:01:59 PM
  • Murray 6-4 7-5 4-4 Djokovic*:
Murray hits an absolute corker to send Djokovic sliding over once again, and follows it up with an unreturned serve to move to 30-15. Djokovic levels, but hits long on the next, and Murray somehow charges to the ball and nails a forehand down the line and past Djokovic. The crowd respond with huge cheers and applause as he levels the set.
    7/7/2013 4:08:25 PM
  • *Murray 6-4 7-5 5-4 Djokovic:
This is getting tense. Murray charges again to the net to reach a Djokovic drop-shot, who then lobs Murray, only to see him pivot round and fire one back. It get's better, when he sprints across the court and smashes a forehand down the line for 2 break points! Djokovic hits the net! ANDY MURRAY IS A GAME AWAY FROM THE WIMBLEDON TITLE!
    7/7/2013 4:11:14 PM
  • Are we about to see sporting history made???

    7/7/2013 4:12:27 PM
  • Murray 6-4 7-5 5-4 Djokovic*:
Djokovic starts the game by hitting long to give Murray the start he want. Three points away...another charge to the net and he sends a shot down the line to 30-0. Two points...Djokovic returns his serve long and it's three Championship points to Murray...hats off to Djokovic as he gives Murray the run around to win the point. 40-15...Djokovic sends a thunderous return to beat Murray. 40-30, surely not another comeback...is it an ace? We go to hawkeye...and it's out. Second serve...it's long! We're at deuce, and Murray spurns 3 Championship points. And now it's a break-point for Djokovic when Murray hits the net! He saves it, but earns another with the slimmest of drop-shots...
    7/7/2013 4:19:57 PM
  • Murray 6-4 7-5 5-4 Djokovic*:
And he saves again! Curling one to the left, he brings up third deuce...
    7/7/2013 4:21:14 PM
  • Murray 6-4 7-5 5-4 Djokovic*:
But it's another break-point for Djokovic when he meet Murray's drop-shot with his own beauty. Again, Murray saves it, rushing in to volley another winner. Fourth deuce...
    7/7/2013 4:22:51 PM
  • Murray 6-4 7-5 5-4 Djokovic*:
Brilliant! Murray fights and fights and Djokovic hits the net. Championship point...
    7/7/2013 4:24:00 PM
  • ANDY MURRAY WINS THE 2013 WIMBLEDON CHAMPIONSHIP!!!
    7/7/2013 4:24:42 PM
  • 77 years of hurt has ended, and a British tennis player in the form of Andy Murray has won at Wimbledon! He adds to his US Open and Olympic crowns to record history and become a two-time winner, but no doubt, this one means the most.

    7/7/2013 4:26:09 PM
  • Murray's climbed up to the Royal Box to continuous applause. He hugs his coach Ivan Lendl, his girlfriend Kim Sears...and he's forgotten his Mum! As he goes to leave the box, a security guard points out where Judy Murray is sitting, and she runs down for a warm embrace. A well done as well from Djokovic's parents, touching.
    7/7/2013 4:29:28 PM
  • As Murray's name is engraved on the Wimbledon wall, he awaits his crowning, and there's been quite a few tears. Huge applause for Novak Djokovic as he collects his runners-up trophy, and he will remain world No 1. But now, as the crowd begin to cheer, Murray's name is read out as the Wimbledon champion! And walks up to collect his trophy and it's a historic moment for British sport!
    7/7/2013 4:32:45 PM
  • No tears from Murray in the interview this year though, and we even cracks a few jokes. A new Murray?
    7/7/2013 4:34:49 PM
  • He also thanks Ivan Lendl, who cracks out a smile of his own. Grumpyness apparently banished from SW19 today!
    7/7/2013 4:36:26 PM
  • Well, what do we all think of that? A crazy, crazy weekend of sport. First the Lions, now Murray wins at Wimbledon. Can anyone think of any better?
    7/7/2013 4:46:04 PM
  • A thrilling way to end a thrilling and shocking tournament. What started in controversy over the conditions of courts, the eliminations of Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer, moved onto the brilliant semi-finals of Murray v Janowicz and Djokovic v del Potro, and we end with Andy Murray - a Wimbledon champion. Magic, just magic.
