So one in and one out at Manchester City. But that won't be it. Roberto Mancini wants to bring in Matija Nastasic from Fiorentina, with Stefan Savic set to move in the opposite direction, Inter Milan defender Maicon and Benfica midfielder Javi Garcia. #busy -
Dimitar Berbatov had looked certain to sign for Fulham, but this morning, Manchester United manager put a cat among the pigeons by suggesting the striker could re-join Spurs. Here's what he said...I do not know what has happened. He has not gone yet. I do not know anything about it. There's not been any contact from him. We thought he was in Italy but it turned out he isn't. He could be anywhere. I really mean that. I wouldn't be surprised if he was at Tottenham. There are rumours going around. I do not think it is settled at Fulham.

He came from Barcelona and won a gold medal at London 2012 - but ultimately, Giovani Dos Santos was useless at Spurs. Following loan spells with Ipswich Town, Galatasaray and Racing Santander - Tottenham have finally offloaded the 23-year-old Mexican for good. He's gone to Real Mallorca. -

There's transfer action at Arsenal! But calm down though. Park Chu-young is off on loan to Celta Vigo with a view to a permanent switch. And it seems Arsene Wenger isn't finished when it comes to selling off every recognised striker at the Emirates. Nicklas Bendtner is reportedly undergoing a medical at Italian champions Juventus. -

In other news at QPR - Joey Barton. The bad boy of the Premier League could be off on loan to Marseille. Mark Hughes had this to say on the matter...I would have thought it would be concluded quite quickly. I would be surprised if it wasn't. The feeling is obviously there that he wants him to pursue it and we want him to do that. When there is a will on both sides then I think it usually gets done.
-
More news on Joey Barton... Marseille's sports director Jose Anigo told reporters this earlier...The two clubs (Marseille and QPR) have reached an agreement. Mbia still has to find one with QPR. Then Joey will be here. Joey's arrival is linked to Mbia's move to QPR. It will be a transfer for Mbia and a loan for Joey. There are quite good chances that the deal will be completed. But it's not done yet.

More on the rumour Fulham are to sign Michel Bastos. Reportedly the fee for the Brazilian winger will be £7m - but it's not a done deal. According to the 29-year-old's agent, there is another club interested in him - believed to be Liverpool. He said...He is discussing with two clubs in England and Fulham is one of them. But at the moment I would prefer not to say the other one. We will see what happens as the day goes on. I expect something to happen today.

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has accused Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy of moving the goalposts at the 11th hour over the transfer of Hugo Lloris. He rates the chances of the keeper joining Spurs at '50-50'. This is what he had to say..."The things as they were at 5am were not the same at 10am. I think we have to make sure we get a certain amount of value because it's important that Hugo can go to a quality club that allows him to do himself justice from a value point of view, so that he can feel right about it.
"I would put it at 50-50 that Hugo goes to Tottenham. Although from the outset, we've submitted to agreements, I would now put it at 50-50 that he'll be going there.
"Agreements have not at all been respected. We've done what we can. Hugo has been troubled by the difficulty in these negotiations.
"Our transfer window is open until 4 September but for Tottenham the English transfer window closes on 31 August. Either it happens tonight or not at all for Hugo Lloris.
"It's been very, very difficult. I've got 25 years of experience as a president of a club and it's our 16th participation in a European competition in a row. But this is very rare in the football world.
"The negotiation with the Tottenham directors has been the hardest I have ever had to undergo in these 25 years.
"We had email exchanges which have been contradicted, so that's made it very complicated. It's difficult.
"The Tottenham board's theory is to explain that the economic market is very hard and so we have to get used to renegotiating.
"He has agreed personal terms with Tottenham, he remains under that impression but, since, we have had Hugo Lloris on the telephone for a long time overnight and this morning and he's completely undecided about what happens next.
"The first negotiation was at the start of the window, about a month and a half ago.
"And then nothing for about a month and a half. The negotiation then picked up again about a week ago." -

You don't know what your talking about Sir Alex (admittedly by his own admission live.independent.co.uk) - Dimitar Berbatov will not be joining Tottenham, that's because he's signed a two-year deal with Fulham. The fee is undisclosed, but understood to be in the region of £5m. -
This is what Dimitar Berbatov had to say after joining Fulham..."As soon as I was aware of Fulham's interest my decision to join was an easy one to make. I'm impressed with the set up here and the people have made me feel welcome. There is a close and personal feel around the club and I can't wait to get started.
Hmm - 'easy decision'? Imagine that's why yesterday he was boarding a plane for Italy. -

Alongside Luka Modric, who eventually left Tottenham for Real Madrid, Clint Dempsey has been this summer's top transfer saga. It's all very quiet right now. Earlier, it was reported that Aston Villa had a bid accepted by Fulham, but shortly after it was claimed the player had turned down that option. The American obviously wants to join Liverpool - but as it stands, there is still no offer from Anfield. -
Michael Owen - former European Player of the Year and regular at the race track - is a free agent. But is anyone going to snap him up? There's not been much talk today, although Stoke are considered his most likely destination. As he's a free agent, he can sign outside the transfer window. One to keep the rumour mill churning after tonight then... -

A happy Sam Allardyce has been chatting to Sky Sports about West Ham's acquisition of Andy Carroll...The co-owners worked particularly hard with me over a very short period of time to get this deal through. I'm very appreciative of that and hopefully Andy can pay back the faith we've shown in him.

-
It's gone a little bit quiet on the transfer front for the moment - but don't expect that to last - there's still loads of deals to be done. Here are the ones we expect to go through...
Clint Dempsey to join either Liverpool, Sunderland or Aston Villa.
Tottenham to sign Hugo Lloris and Joao Moutinho. Those two combined may cost as much as £35m.
Manchester City to add Javi Garcia to their squad in a big money deal.
Gaston Ramirez to join Southampton.
Everton to complete deal for Bryan Oviedo -
