Trine Larsen, of Billed Bladet, described as the Danish Hello magazine, said: "Danish people are very fond of Prince William because of Diana. She was a very popular figure and a style icon, and all her popularity has been transferred to William. People are so happy that he is marrying for love and that he chose his future wife himself. William is pretty down to earth. But Kate will bring fresh blood into the monarchy. It makes the royal family come closer to the people." -
Martin Chamberland, a photographer with La Presse, a Canadian national newspaper, said: "This is a big deal for Canadians. It will definitely be front page. Many Canadians have British ancestors. And then there's everything that goes with the wedding, the pomp and circumstance, the clothes, the food, the parties. People want to know everything about what's going on." -

Bless Simon Schama for manfully trying to squeeze something meaningful and significant from all this. I suppose it's what he's paid for.by simon_price01 via twitter 4/29/2011 8:51:44 AM -
RT @danwainwright: David Beckham is wearing his OBE on the right lapel, not the left, which is apparently wrong. There's a joke in here somewhere #royalweddingby ianshine via twitter 4/29/2011 8:53:03 AM -
Hans Jacobs, royal correspondent for the Netherlands Press Association: "[The popularity of the British Royal Family] partly because of the Commonwealth, partly because English is accessible to the whole world, and partly because it's the last major power which still has a monarchy. Even though everybody says they are not interested, the newspaper sales figures must show a different story." -

ITV: "Sir Elton John with David Furnish looking splendid today. They don't look tired considering they've just become parents. We asked many people before the wedding what they'd be wearing and Sir Elton's manager replied 'boxer shorts'. Rather subdued compared to some of the outfits we've seen Elton in." -

He added: "It does mean quite a lot. I slept on the Mall for Charles and Diana's wedding all those years ago and I suppose like many people my age have watched Prince William grow up and all the challenges he's had - obviously losing his mother, but now finding love and wanting to get married. Like anyone who's lived in Britain, you feel quite an attachment to this event and that's why I think the whole country's getting so excited about it." -
