  • Nottinghamshire Police said the industrial action has had "minimal impact" on the force. Seven employees went on strike overnight in the force control room, along with 11 detention officers in custody. By midday today, there were a total of 113 employees on strike, out of a total police staff workforce of 1,748. Only four of the force's 278 PCSOs are on strike.

  • PA: Among the Edinburgh crowd was A&E staff nurse Sharon Edgar, who said she thought her pension and retirement deal had been agreed when she started work. Ms Edgar, 37, from Rosyth in Fife, works at St John's Hospital in Livingston, West Lothian. She took her eight-year-old daughter Bea on the rally. She said: "My little girl wants to be a nurse too. If we don't stand up now, what kind of deal will she get?"
