  • The self-styled 'Hart Dog' goes through his pre-match warm up

    1/12/2014 1:58:50 PM
  • Kick off less than five minutes away, which way will this one go? It would appear to depend on which Man City turn up, the side that have thumped a host of top sides or the team with dodgy away form....
    1/12/2014 2:04:26 PM
  • Newcastle 0 Man City 0: We're off!
    1/12/2014 2:06:59 PM

    1/12/2014 2:08:57 PM
  • Newcastle 0 Man City 0: Five minutes played and no real chances yet, Kolarov looking lively down the left.
    1/12/2014 2:12:29 PM
  • GOAL! Newcastle 0 Man City 1 - Edin Dzeko
Great start for City, Kolarov advances wide on the left and plays a great cross along the floor to Dzeko who runs in at the near post and just sweeps the ball home. Great run, great pass. This already is looking a bit ominous for Newcastle.
    1/12/2014 2:14:18 PM
  • Newcastle 0 Man City 1: Free kick to Man City who have been all over Newcastle so far. Silva whips it in but Newcastle manage to put it out for a corner. Negredo heads the resulting chance over the bar.
    1/12/2014 2:21:36 PM

  • Alan Pardew possibly thinking about how many more years he's got left of his bumper contract

    1/12/2014 2:26:17 PM
  • Newcastle 0 Man City 1: The home side are struggling to get in to this game at the moment, slightly rushing things when in possession. They can at least console themselves with the fact that they haven't conceded again.
    1/12/2014 2:28:56 PM

  • Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko (c) scores the opening goal

    1/12/2014 2:31:48 PM

  •  Edin Dzeko (L) celebrates after scoring the opening goal

    1/12/2014 2:35:30 PM
  • Newcastle 0 Man City 1:  The game has quietened down a bit now and Newcastle are starting to get on the ball a bit more. They win a corner.
    1/12/2014 2:40:09 PM
  • DISALLOWED GOAL! Newcastle 0 Man City 1: Controversy! Cheick Tiote smashes the ball into the net from outside the area but the goal is chalked off because there were two Newcastle players offside. They weren't interfering though and that goal should have stood.
    1/12/2014 2:42:34 PM

  • 1/12/2014 2:45:26 PM
  • Newcastle 0 Man City 1: This game has spiced up a bit since that disallowed goal with both teams picking up a couple of yellow cards each. Meanwhile Alan Pardew is having a bit of a shout at his opposite man on the touchline.
    1/12/2014 2:53:13 PM

  • Alvaro Negredo of Manchester City takes a shot

    1/12/2014 2:53:41 PM
  • HALF TIME - Newcastle should be level at St James' Park and it's fair to say everyone is letting the referee know their frustration.
    1/12/2014 2:55:14 PM
  • Newcastle 0 Man City 1: Second half is up and running, can Newcastle get back into this match?
    1/12/2014 3:16:04 PM

  • Newcastle protest their disallowed goal

    1/12/2014 3:19:32 PM
  • Newcastle 0 Man City 1: Bit of a scrappy start to this half, sounds like a fantastic atmosphere though.
    1/12/2014 3:22:47 PM
  • Newcastle 0 Man City 1: Yohan Cabaye stings the palms of Joe Hart with a long range effort that the England keeper turns behind from a corner. One or two City players are flirting with danger, flying into tackles when they are already booked.
    1/12/2014 3:25:22 PM

  • Alan Pardew gives the referee a good old half time haranguing

    1/12/2014 3:27:06 PM
  • Newcastle 0 Man City 1: Oh what a chance for Newcastle! Remy is played in with a ball that Man City's defenders should have dealt with and surprisingly finds himself one on one with Hart but the keeper makes a good low save to keep out the Frenchman's powerful shot. Newcastle threatening here...
    1/12/2014 3:35:25 PM
  • Newcastle 0 Man City 1: Pardew is on the hunt for an equaliser and so he sends Papiss Cisse into the fray for Vernon Anita.
    1/12/2014 3:38:29 PM
  • Newcastle 0 Man City 1: Bit of a delay as Nasri is stretchered off after a bad tackle from Yanga-Mbiwa. James Milner is on in his place.
    1/12/2014 3:43:49 PM

  • 1/12/2014 3:45:51 PM

  • Loic Remy has his shot on goal saved by goalkeeper Joe Hart

    1/12/2014 3:46:55 PM

    1/12/2014 3:51:36 PM

  • Samir Nasri gets hacked down

    1/12/2014 3:54:15 PM
  • Newcastle 0 Man City 1: 7 (seven) minutes of added time after that earlier Nasri injury. Can Newcastle get the equaliser they deserve?
    1/12/2014 3:58:02 PM
  • GOAL! Newcastle 0 Man City 2 - Alvaro Negredo
That's unlucky for Newcastle, who get hit on the counter attack as Milner frees Negredo who is in one on one with Krul who is more than a little unlucky to concede after a good first save but the ball rebounds back into the path of Negredo who taps it into the empty net. Game over.
    1/12/2014 3:59:51 PM
  • FULL TIME: Newcastle 0 Man City 1 - Hard cheese for Alan Pardew and co. who deserved a point from this game to be honest. However Man City somehow found a way to win and go back to the top of the league.
    1/12/2014 4:02:47 PM
  • Five minutes until Stoke take on Liverpool, here are the teams:

Stoke: Butland, Cameron, Shawcross, Wilson, Pieters, Nzonzi, Whelan, Walters, Adam, Arnautovic, Crouch. Subs: Muniesa, Pennant, Palacios, Etherington, Sorensen, Shotton, Ireland.

    1/12/2014 4:05:05 PM
  • Stoke 0 Liverpool 0: Players are in the tunnel...
    1/12/2014 4:06:53 PM
  • Stoke 0 Liverpool 0: We're off in Stoke. Liverpool old boys Adam and Crouch in the home side.
    1/12/2014 4:14:33 PM
  • GOAL! Stoke 0 Liverpool 1 - Ryan Shawcross o.g.
Oh dear what a bad start for Stoke. Huge stroke of luck for Liverpool as Cissokho shanks a shot horribly wide but it smashes into Shawcross in the middle of the area and deflects straight into the net past the helpless Butland. Jammy stuff.
    1/12/2014 4:16:07 PM

  • Brendan Rodgers is happy...

    1/12/2014 4:28:33 PM
  • Stoke 0 Liverpool 1: Liverpool are in charge here, Sterling has started well. Haven't seen much of Suarez yet.
    1/12/2014 4:32:55 PM

  • Aly Cissokho's deflected shot leads to the opening goal

    1/12/2014 4:34:42 PM
  • GOAL! Stoke 0 Liverpool 2 - Luis Suarez
He's been fairly anonymous so far but Suarez pops up in the right place to punish some lousy Stoke defending as Shawcross makes a meal of a dodgy backpass and gets his pocket picked by Suarez who then slots the ball home. Liverpool are cruising.
    1/12/2014 4:43:00 PM
  • GOAL! Stoke 1 Liverpool 2 - Peter Crouch
A lifeline for Stoke, Crouch against his old club. Arnautovic whips in a cross and the beanpole striker gets a good glancing header on it to divert it into the net.
