Jordi Amat: Mauricio Pochettino was like a father to me

The IndependentBefore Dele Alli and Eric Dier there was Luke Shaw and Calum Chambers, but before any of them there was Jordi Amat. There is a long list of footballers who were given their chance by Mauricio Pochettino and it all began at Espanyol over six years ago.

    4/9/2016 11:17:32 AM
Slaven Bilic has certainly livened things up at West Ham

    4/9/2016 11:24:02 AM
GOAL! West Ham 0 Arsenal 1 - Mesut Ozil
Arsenal lead. West Ham fail to clear their lines properly and Iwobi slips a lovely ball through for Ozil who calmly slots it into the far corner of the net. Clinical.

    4/9/2016 12:05:36 PM

    4/9/2016 12:07:24 PM
West Ham 0 Arsenal 1: You could argue that West Ham have had the better of things so far, and they were extremely unfortunate to have a goal wrongly ruled out for offside. Nevertheless they still trail.
    4/9/2016 12:08:59 PM
West Ham 0 Arsenal 1: This game has become a bit scrappy, but is still pretty exciting. Not too many chances for either side in recent minutes, but  West Ham have a free kick in Payet territory...
    4/9/2016 12:14:29 PM
West Ham 0 Arsenal 1: Sadly the Frenchman doesn't shoot, and his cross into the area is easily cleared.
    4/9/2016 12:15:08 PM

    Arsenal celebrate their goal

    4/9/2016 12:17:56 PM
GOAL! West Ham 0 Arsenal 2 - Alexis Sanchez
Similar goal for Arsenal, Iwobi again with the assist, lifting the ball over the last line of defence this time and Sanchez the man to slot the ball home.
    4/9/2016 12:20:39 PM

    4/9/2016 12:24:13 PM
West Ham 0 Arsenal 2: Oooh chance for West Ham, Carroll on the edge of the box does a clever turn and snapshot and Ospina gets down well to keep it out.
    4/9/2016 12:25:58 PM
GOAL! West Ham 1 Arsenal 2 - Andy Caroll
West Ham have a goal back! Great cross in from Creswell and Carroll gets his head there first to knock it past Ospina. Game on.
    4/9/2016 12:30:34 PM
GOAL! West Ham 2 Arsenal 2 - Andy Carroll
It's all square! Carroll again! West Ham have a corner and Arsenal only half clear it, the ball is played back in and Carroll fluffs his kick at the ball but it doesn't matter, he gets a second go and scissors it in to the back of the net.
    4/9/2016 12:33:06 PM
    HALF TIME
West Ham 2 Arsenal 2 - What a finish to the half! What a game!
    4/9/2016 12:34:55 PM

    4/9/2016 12:58:02 PM
West Ham 3 Arsenal 2: Do Arsenal have a response? They've been bulldozered by Andy Carroll and West Ham are pushing for another.
    4/9/2016 1:00:48 PM
West Ham 3 Arsenal 2: Sub for Arsenal, Ramsey on for Coquelin
    4/9/2016 1:05:22 PM
West Ham 3 Arsenal 2: Arsenal are struggling to get into this game at the moment, it's all West Ham right now. Fascinating turnaround.

    4/9/2016 1:58:07 PM
3pm kick offs are go, go, go...
    4/9/2016 2:01:14 PM
GOAL! Southampton 1 Newcastle 0 - Shane Long
Disastrous start from Newcastle, that's terrible defending. Pelle and Long play a one-two and Southampton have the lead. Too easy.
    4/9/2016 2:05:18 PM

    4/9/2016 2:06:36 PM
GOAL! Southampton 2 Newcastle 0 - Graziano Pelle
Rafa out? Pelle on the scoresheet now, Long almost accidentally setting up his strike partner and the Saints double their lead.
    4/9/2016 2:38:39 PM

    4/9/2016 2:41:10 PM
GOAL! Southampton 3 Newcastle 0 - Victor Wanyama
Newcastle are done in this match and surely they're going down as well. Wanyama smashes in a third from close range. Game over.
    4/9/2016 3:13:55 PM

    4/9/2016 3:29:47 PM
GOAL! Aston Villa 0 Bournemouth 2 - Josh King
It gets worse for Villa, King doubles Bournemouth's lead with a clever dink over Guzan.
    4/9/2016 3:32:49 PM

    4/9/2016 3:34:33 PM

    Some happy Aston Villa fans

    4/9/2016 3:38:09 PM
GOAL! Aston Villa 1 Bournemouth 2 - Jordan Ayew
Villa fans are cheering, this is not a drill. The relegation fightback starts here (probably not)
    4/9/2016 3:44:15 PM
Man City 0 West Brom 0: All Man City so far, they're onto their third corner already.
    4/9/2016 4:34:00 PM
GOAL! Man City 0 West Brom 1 - Stephane Sessegnon
West Brom lead? A ball whipped in from the left finds Sessegnon who collects it well and then smashes in a shot at the near post. Hart should have done better, he didn't move.
    4/9/2016 4:36:51 PM

Looks like a nice day in Manchester

    4/9/2016 4:41:49 PM
Man City 0 West Brom 1: City have been fairly lacklustre so far. This game already looking like it might not be an all time classic.
    4/9/2016 4:44:56 PM

    Sessegnon opens the scoring

    4/9/2016 4:47:50 PM
Man City 0 West Brom 1: PENALTY TO MAN CITY
    4/9/2016 4:48:16 PM
Man City 1 West Brom 1: Gardner hits it straight against the wall though and then sees yellow a minute later for a challenge on Navas.
    4/9/2016 5:04:13 PM
Man City 1 West Brom 1: City fans in uproar because they think Navas was fouled by James McClean as the Spaniard tried to attack down the right, but the referee says no foul. Think he got that one wrong to be honest. Anyway, City finally starting to create something going forwards.
    4/9/2016 5:08:50 PM
Man City 1 West Brom 1: Sergio Aguero is at least looking good for Man City, but otherwise they've been fairly poor. The home side starting to create a little more now, but they've been second best for most of this half. Sloppy both in defence and attack. 2 minutes more to play in the half.
    4/9/2016 5:16:40 PM
    HALF TIME
Man City 1 West Brom 1
    4/9/2016 5:17:41 PM
Man City 1 West Brom 1: West Brom's goal was their first shot on target for THREE AND A HALF HOURS!
    4/9/2016 5:24:57 PM
Man City 1 West Brom 1: Second half back underway...
    4/9/2016 5:34:33 PM
Man City 1 West Brom 1: It's been all City so far this half, this is more what we expected at the start of the match. Aguero sinks the ball forward for Bony but the striker gets boshed off the ball quite easily and the keeper collects. Bony has been poor today.
    4/9/2016 5:41:08 PM

    Time for some City reinforcements?

    4/9/2016 5:42:57 PM
Man City 1 West Brom 1: Thumping long ranger from Aguero is just tipped round the post by Foster. Good save.
    4/9/2016 5:43:39 PM
Man City 1 West Brom 1: De Bruyne and Toure coming on for Delph and Bony
    4/9/2016 5:49:27 PM
Man City 2 West Brom 1: Ooh that was a chance for West Brom. Berahino heads horribly wide from a close range free header. He should have been flagged offside but wasn't so that has to go down as a bad miss.
    4/9/2016 6:05:11 PM

Man City celebrate their second goal

    4/9/2016 6:06:31 PM
Man City 2 West Brom 1: Slight technical problem here, but you haven't missed much, City very much on top. More worrying for City though is the sight of Aguero limping off, he's replaced by Clichy.
    4/9/2016 6:18:09 PM
Man City 2 West Brom 1: 4 minutes to be added on.
