  • GOAL!
    8/7/2011 2:18:21 PM
  • 46 min: What do I know! Dzeko hits it from 30 yards out and it goes into the bottom left hand corner of the net.
    8/7/2011 2:19:12 PM
  • 47 min: Again poor keeping from De Gea. The shot wasn't that powerful, or particularly well placed and the United keeper should have got there.
    8/7/2011 2:20:22 PM
  • 47 min: Rooney hits a frustrated looking shot from the edge of the box. It runs wide and that's it for the half as the referee Phil Dowd blows his whistle.
    8/7/2011 2:21:16 PM
  • HT: There we go, half-time here at Wembley. It's been quite an even game but two goals late in the half from City put them in the driving seat. It's been an entertaining affair so far, a few bookings, some swift attacks from both sides and of course those two goals. The biggest talking point has to be the Edwin van der Sar replacement David De Gea. He looked at fault for both goals which will be a huge concern for Alex Ferguson. Not the start the goalkeeper would have wanted to his United career.
    8/7/2011 2:24:47 PM
  • HT: Almost ready to go again as the teams come out. How will United respond to those two goals? We're about to find out.
    8/7/2011 2:36:53 PM
  • 46 min: Phil Jones, Evans and Cleverly are on for Ferdinand, Vidic and Carrick. No changes for City.
    8/7/2011 2:39:10 PM
  • 48: A slightly subdued start to the second half here. Ferguson still has Berbatov and Park on the bench if he wants to take things up a notch.
    8/7/2011 2:41:44 PM
  • 50: A bit of trickery from Young out on the left. He then switches the play before Cleverly cross it into the box. Welbeck meets it with his head but gets it all wrong. The ball sails out for a goal-kick.
    8/7/2011 2:43:32 PM
  • GOAL!
    8/7/2011 2:44:58 PM
  • 52: Strong tackle by Richards sees United win a free kick. Young curls it right footed into the box where its met by Chris Smalling who tucks it in.
    8/7/2011 2:45:48 PM
  • 53: Great cross from Young - one of those where the keeper isn't sure where to place himself, fearing the ball may just drop into the net if no-one meets it. Hart got it wrong and the impressive Smalling was able to put it into the net with ease. Game on.
    8/7/2011 2:47:14 PM
  • 54: Excellent chance for Dzeko but he gets it wrong. Trying to play the ball square to Silva its intercepted and a great chance goes amiss.
    8/7/2011 2:48:46 PM
  • 56: United counter and win a free-kick on the edge of the box. Young takes it but its straight into the wall. United are looking menacing.
    8/7/2011 2:49:55 PM
  • GOAL!
    8/7/2011 2:50:25 PM
  • 58 min: Nani scores for United after some fine passing around the edge of the box.
    8/7/2011 2:51:26 PM
  • 59 min: Balotelli goes off and is replaced by Barry.
    8/7/2011 2:52:00 PM
  • 60 min: Back to that United goal. It really was a fine equaliser. Rooney, Welbeck and Nani were all involved as they weaved it through the City defence. Nani found himself one-on-one with Hart. From a tight angle he blasted it into the net.
    8/7/2011 2:53:44 PM
  • 62 min: The City fans have gone very quiet. An amazing turn-around here at Wembley and its United who look most likely to win this now. A corner from Young goes through everyone before reaching Rooney. He blasts it but its closed down.
    8/7/2011 2:55:53 PM

  • 63 min: From the resulting corner it reaches Rooney once again. He hits it hard but it goes over the bar.
    8/7/2011 2:56:39 PM
  • 65 min: Mancini is out at the edge of his technical area looking concerned as United go on the attack again. Richards tackles Young well before heading down the wing but it breaks down.
    8/7/2011 2:58:52 PM
  • 67 min: City just haven't got it going this half. There's a far greater urgency about the team in red. Milner goes off for Adam Johnson - lets see if this helps City pull themselves together.
    8/7/2011 3:00:49 PM
  • 68 min: Slack passing by De Jong gives the ball to Rooney. The No 10 runs toward the City goal and is only stopped by a strong tackle from Lescott.
    8/7/2011 3:02:31 PM
  • 71 min A good cohesion about United - their attacks have purpose and the players have options. Young is hauled down on the edge of the box allowing Rafael to come on for Evra.
    8/7/2011 3:04:42 PM
  • 72 min Rooney hits it low but its straight into the wall. That was a great position to strike from, he'll be disappointed with that.
    8/7/2011 3:06:21 PM
  • 73 min Kolarov goes off for former Gunner Gael Clichy.
    8/7/2011 3:06:51 PM
  • 74 min Not the new signing City fans and neutrals would like to see. Hopefully Aguero will get on at some point today. City win a corner.
    8/7/2011 3:08:19 PM
  • 75 min Silva kicks the corner over everyone but City are showing signs of improvement.
    8/7/2011 3:09:10 PM
  • 76 min Snappy shot from the edge of the box from Johnson. De Gea can only palm it away.
    8/7/2011 3:10:01 PM
  • 78 min Less than 15 minutes to go. Are we heading for penalties? Just to let you know, there will be no extra-time if the match is drawn.
    8/7/2011 3:11:47 PM
  • 79 min: United attack again. A bit of confusion sees Rooney leave the ball for Cleverly but he blasts his attempt over.
    8/7/2011 3:13:09 PM
  • 82 min: Young gives away a free-kick after climbing all over the back of Richards. The former Villa man has been really impressive today, constantly a threat to the City defence.
    8/7/2011 3:15:37 PM
  • 84 min: City attack, with Silva nearly getting in behind. In the end he's forced to cross it and it's headed away by Jones. City come back again but Toure can only shoot high over the bar from 30 yards.
    8/7/2011 3:17:44 PM
  • 85 min: Now its United's turn to attack. A mix up between Hart and Kompany sees it go out for a corner.
    8/7/2011 3:19:24 PM
  • 86 min: Hart punches Young's corner away before collecting from Rooney's cross from the other side.
    8/7/2011 3:20:06 PM
  • 88 min: Silva wins his side a corner before taking it himself. It's met by Richards but De Gea punches it away. Nevermind, Phil Dowd says Richards committed a foul anyway.
    8/7/2011 3:21:27 PM
  • 88 min: Welbeck comes off for Berbatov. The Englishman looked at home playing for United today.
    8/7/2011 3:22:09 PM
  • 89 min: Johnson works it to Dzeko but its a tame effort from just inside the box and De Gea collects with ease.
    8/7/2011 3:22:55 PM
  • 90 min: Down at the other end, the ball falls to Cleverly 12 yards out but he completely fluffs it. There will be 4 mins of added time.
    8/7/2011 3:24:00 PM
  • 90 + 1 min: Both sets of fans are urging their teams on as United retain possession.
    8/7/2011 3:25:13 PM
  • GOAL!
    8/7/2011 3:26:31 PM
  • 90 + 3 min: United have surely won it. Nani is the scorer. The ball breaks to him on the half-way line after Kompany mis-reads it. He runs one-on-one with Hart before rounding him and calmly slotting home.
    8/7/2011 3:27:45 PM
  • FT: That's it - full-time and United have won this entertaining encounter.
    8/7/2011 3:29:01 PM
  • FT: Incredible turn-around here at Wembley. What was that about the Community Shield being a drab encounter?
    8/7/2011 3:30:24 PM
  • FT: United showed so much more urgency than their opponents in the second half and deserved to get back into the match. To win it in the last minute like that was a bit harsh on City but that's United. Nani was named man-of-the-match here but for me Chris Smalling, playing out of position at right-back really impressed. Ashley Young was also a constant threat for United. As to their keeper David De Gea, there will be some concerns after being at fault for both City goals.
    8/7/2011 3:33:43 PM
  • FT: City are looking to win the title this year but their second-half collapse must be a real concern for Mancini. Shame we didn't get to see Aguero today, and judging by the poor display from Dzeko they can't get him out there playing soon enough.
    8/7/2011 3:35:37 PM
  • FT: As United lift the Community Shield at the top of those famous steps we say goodbye. We'll be back here at Wembley on Wednesday for England v Holland. Hope to see you then.
