Rangers trying to replace Nikica Jelavic with Grant Holt. Really??? Fans can't be too happy with that.by CROUSSIS via twitter 1/31/2012 4:43:23 PM -

So with 6 hours to go - the big deals we know about that could come off today are Bobby Zamora to QPR, Nikica Jelavic and possibly Steven Pianaar to Everton, potentially Louis Saha and/or Hugo Rodallega to Tottenham, Carlos Tevez to AC Milan, Ravel Morrison to West Ham and Pavel Pogrebnyak to Fulham. -

-
With all due respect, the names flying around today aren't quite in the same bracket as the Fernando Torres / Luis Suarez / Andy Carroll merry-go-round of last year's January transfer window. But with 6 hours remaining, I won't be ruling out any last minute big-name moves. You'll hear all about it right here as we take you through to the 11pm deadline... -

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp made no secret of his desire to bring in a striker during this window but Louis Saha is a surprise. The Frenchman is 33-years-old and there's no doubt his career is in decline, and has been for some time. Any thoughts readers? -
Last year there was £225m spent on deadline day. So far this year there's been less than £20m, with Kevin de Bruyne's switch to Chelsea, reportedly for around £7m and Djibril Cisse's arrival at QPR for around £4m the biggest moves so far. Uefa's Financial Fair Play rules are perhaps beginning to show their effect. -

-
Some suggestions on the internet that Bobby Zamora could try and spark a bidding war for his services with QPR and Tottenham. We know QPR are in the hunt but Tottenham would be a new twist surrounding the future of the England striker. With Spurs seemingly interested in Louis Saha, we know they are open to signing an older player, and it would have to be said that on current form, the Fulham man is a better option than Saha. -

Harry Redknapp was right when he said he couldn't spell - he asked for Zahar and got Saha!by PCS86 via twitter 1/31/2012 5:18:36 PM -
Looking forward to see what unfolds tonight on #deadlineday will there be any big surprises? Saha and Zamora the biggest so far!by Johnashley75 via twitter 1/31/2012 5:19:15 PM -

A few players who have been linked with moves throughout the window have mysteriously fallen off the radar today. Chris Samba, who handed in a transfer request at Blackburn appears to be staying at Ewood Park. Another player who appears to be remaining in Lancashire is Junior Hoilett, who is out of contract in the summer. Fulham's Andrew Johnson is another who is out of contract at the end of the season and had been linked with a move away. We also heard that Dimitar Berbatov could be leaving United and that Florent Malouda, Salomon Kalou, Didier Drogba and Jose Bosingwa were destined for the Chelsea exit. None of these players is being strongly linked with a transfer today - at least not yet... -

It seems very unlikely Chelsea will be splashing £75m like last winter. They have announced huge losses this afternoon. Read more here... www.independent.co.uk -
