    2/29/2012 7:59:34 PM
  • 54: Things get tight in the middle and Young is dispossessed by Robben. He feeds Huntelaar who shoots from range but it's just wide. Close. The attendance here is a disappointing 66,283.
    2/29/2012 9:11:27 PM
  • 57 min: GOAL! Robben for the Netherlands.
    2/29/2012 9:13:24 PM
  • 57 min: Robben picks up a loose ball in his own half then surges at the England defence. They back off and off and when he gets to the edge of the box he unleashes a left footed shot into the bottom corner of Joe Hart's goal. Fantastic skill.
    2/29/2012 9:14:34 PM
  • 58 min: GOAL! Netherlands score again!
    2/29/2012 9:15:09 PM
  • 58 min: Kuyt crosses it in from the right and it's met by Huntelaar on the six yard box to head in. He's hurt himself, and Smalling in the process.
    2/29/2012 9:16:13 PM
  • 62 min: Devastating couple of minutes for England. Netherlands are two goals up in a flash. Smalling is being put onto a stretcher and is going to be replaced by Phil Jones.
    2/29/2012 9:18:50 PM
  • 63 min: Huntelaar has also gone off, being replaced by Luuk De Jong. It was a clash of the heads for the pair - no malice on either side.
    2/29/2012 9:20:04 PM
  • 64 min: Meanwhile Stewart Downing is on for Adam Johnson. Things are back underway here after that lengthy stoppage.
    2/29/2012 9:20:56 PM
  • 65 min: Cross from Milner from the right is met by Downing on the volley. It goes back across goal and out. England were very nearly back in it there.
    2/29/2012 9:22:01 PM
  • 67 min: Jones has come in at right-back and Richards has moved into the middle to fill the void left by Smalling. What can England conjure here? The last time these sides met, England were 2-0 down. They came back that night to draw 2-2 - Jermain Defoe coming off the bench to score both. He's not on the bench tonight though. Frazier Campbell is.
    2/29/2012 9:24:28 PM
  • 70 min: More tricky skills from Robben who finds a yard inside the box and gets a shot away. Richards comes across to block. From the corner it's very close to three, somehow evading everyone at the back post.
    2/29/2012 9:26:30 PM
  • 71 min: England are getting sloppy and you feel the Dutch might smell blood right now as another England attack breaks down too easily.
    2/29/2012 9:27:48 PM
  • 72 min: Sturridge attempts to dribble into the box but is forced off the ball and it's a goal kick.
    2/29/2012 9:29:01 PM
  • 73 min: Dreadful miss from Sturridge. Downing puts the ball across the box, four yards out all the Chelsea striker has to do is tap it in, but he somehow loops it into the air and it's easily collected by Stekelenburg. Mathijsen is booked.
    2/29/2012 9:30:33 PM
  • 75 min: Sturridge won't get an easier chance than that to open his England account. Quick correction, it was Baines' who crossed the ball across goal.
    2/29/2012 9:31:36 PM
  • 76 min: Parker very nearly puts Young in but the Manchester United man is just offside. Sneijder goes off for Emanuelson.
    2/29/2012 9:32:55 PM
  • 77 min: Welbeck is put into a decent position but his control lets him down and it's a goal-kick for the Netherlands. Not good enough.
    2/29/2012 9:33:58 PM
  • 79 min: Parker clumsily loses possession but luckily for him Robben can't make the most of the opening. Welbeck is off. He impressed at times but no goal. On comes Frazier Campbell for his debut.
    2/29/2012 9:36:21 PM
  • 81 min: Can Capmbell do a Defoe? I'm not counting on it, but I'd like to be proved wrong, if only to make the trip home after the match among the England fans that bit more enjoyable.
    2/29/2012 9:37:39 PM
  • 82 min: The Dutch looking to take the sting out of the game as Boulahrouz is off for Vlaar.
    2/29/2012 9:39:15 PM
  • 84 min: Sturridge collects the ball on the edge of the box and turns well but his shot is blocked. I really can't remember as many blocked attempts as I've witnessed tonight. One for the stats people.
    2/29/2012 9:41:18 PM
  • 86 min: GOAL! Cahill for England.
    2/29/2012 9:41:51 PM
  • 87 min: Cahill, lingering in an attacking position is fed the ball. Somehow he's onside with Heitinga screwing up the Dutch defensive line by being too far back. The Chelsea defender controls it on the corner of the six yard box, takes it inside and puts it under the keeper. He looked shocked to get it, but did great!
    2/29/2012 9:44:09 PM
  • 88 min: The Dutch go close with Hart having his hands stung from range after a Kuyt shot. An injured Sturridge comes off for Theo Walcott.
    2/29/2012 9:45:04 PM
  • 89 min: There's some belief in this Wembley crowd, and there's due to be a lot of injury time. Can England get back? An attack breaks down.
    2/29/2012 9:46:10 PM
  • 90 min: GOAL! Young for England.
    2/29/2012 9:47:06 PM
  • 91 min: Jones feeds Young, who is onside and chips it over the keeper from six yards out. There will be 4 mins of injury time.
    2/29/2012 9:48:29 PM
  • 91 min: GOAL! Robben for the Netherlands.
    2/29/2012 9:48:53 PM
  • 93 min: Crazy finish to the match here. Robben gets the ball in the England box, he pushes it onto his left foot and curls it beautifully into the top corner past an outstretched Hart.
    2/29/2012 9:50:08 PM
  • 94 min: Long shot from Van Bommel and that's it. Full time here at Wembley. England 2 Netherlands 3.
    2/29/2012 9:51:23 PM
  • FT: Wow - what an end to the match. Let me fill you in...
    2/29/2012 9:53:02 PM
  • FT: Two goals in as many minutes midway through the half saw the Dutch flying - and England flailing. But out of the blue, Gary Cahill found himself on side and brought a glimmer of hope to the home fans with a few minutes to go. England drove on and got the equaliser through Ashley Young - a memorable comeback was the script for the evening... apart from it wasn't. Arjen Robben came up with a fantastic curling effort in injury time to score his second of the match and secure his team a hugely boosting win ahead of the Euros.
    2/29/2012 9:56:10 PM
  • FT: What England, and any prospective manager, will have learned from this isn't all too clear. England played without fear - more so than I can remember under Fabio Capello. But they were caught out by a top class side. Despite that they were able to fight back from two down, which must be hugely encouraging. Parker made some great blocks in his role as captain, but it must also be said he made a few errors. Gerrard had to come off early which was a disappointment. Sturridge missed a chance which was as simple as they come - a real shame with England in need of confident, goal scoring strikers right now. It would have done him the world of good to find the back of the net. It's a defeat - but a narrow one with some positives, against the third best team in the world.
    2/29/2012 10:00:23 PM
  • FT: That's all from me, Simon Rice. I hope you enjoyed the coverage. Good night.
