    8/15/2015 12:49:31 PM
The game looks like it will come too soon for new signing Clinton Njie, who completed his move from Lyon earlier this morning.

Read the new boy's quotes about his transfer in the link below. The 22-year-old can't wait to get started at a big club like Tottenham...

    8/15/2015 1:00:41 PM
Goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has recovered from his fractured wrist and will take his place between the sticks while Nabil Bentaleb, who was below part at Old Trafford, has lost his place to Ryan Mason.

    8/15/2015 1:03:21 PM
So, after all the hype, Xherdan Shaqiri hasn't made the matchday squad for the visitors while former Spurs striker Peter Crouch has to settle for a place on the bench.
    8/15/2015 1:05:18 PM
It's Lloris' 100th appearance in the Premier League this afternoon and the Frenchman will be aiming to mark his milestone with a clean sheet.

    8/15/2015 1:06:35 PM

Vorm, Rose, Bentaleb, Lamela, Trippier, Alli, Carroll.
    8/15/2015 1:09:15 PM
Lloris is the second Spurs player out of the tunnel and he is treated to a warm round of applause from the smattering of fans that have already made their way into the stadium. The goalkeeper's presence in a backline that looked far from settle at Old Trafford could be crucial today.
    8/15/2015 1:12:31 PM
Meanwhile, back to milestones and it's Harry Kane's 50th Premier League appearance this afternoon. The 22-year-old has scored 24 goals in the top flight thus far. That's a lethal strike rate in anybody's book.

    8/15/2015 1:17:18 PM
Roberto Soldado wasn't quite as prolific as Kane during is stint in north London.

The Spaniard's exit was confirmed last night and he apologised to the Spurs fanbase for failing to meet their expectations.

Poor old Bobby. Read his farewell message in full below.

    8/15/2015 1:22:15 PM
Both sets of players are out on the pitch warming up. Kick off in just over half an hour. Plenty of Hugo love from the crowd as the stadium announcer runs through the teams for the first time....

    8/15/2015 1:26:41 PM
Following the capture of Njie and the exit of Soldado, is Mauricio Pochettino's strikeforce good enough to finish in the top four this season?

One more forward could yet be on his way out in the form of Emmanuel Adebayor, who is on a 12-man transfer shortlist over at West Ham.
    8/15/2015 1:36:51 PM
    8/15/2015 1:40:41 PM
Tottenham have failed to keep a clean sheet in eight of their nine Premier League games at White Hart Lane in 2015.

That statistic isn't pleasant reading for the Spurs faithful. Stoke looked dangerous against Liverpool last week and Jan Vertonghen and co have got a job on their hands to keep the visitors out.
    8/15/2015 1:44:09 PM
The Belgian defender has been given the armband this afternoon and it will be worth keeping a close eye on his fledgling partnership with Toby Alderweireld.

The pair have played alongside eachother at both Ajax and international level and their presence will be crucial for Spurs this season.

Having suffered from a soft underbelly for so long, Pochettino could finally have a reliable duo to call upon in the heart of his backline.

    8/15/2015 1:48:49 PM
However, the Stoke front line is a tricky prospect. Former Barcelona forward Ibrahim Afellay posseses real quality, Jonathan Walters is a handful and Mame Biram Diouf certainly knows where the goal is.
    8/15/2015 1:51:47 PM
The new recruits got a huge round of applause as they were presented to the crowd prior to kick off.
    8/15/2015 1:53:27 PM
A stirring speech has just been blasted out over the stadium tannoy and it's sparked the crowd into life.
    8/15/2015 1:54:57 PM
The players are on the pitch and, with the customary photographs out of the way, it's down to business.
    8/15/2015 1:58:01 PM
Charlie Adam's name is greeted with a chorus of boos, while Peter Crouch's draws acclaim.
    8/15/2015 1:58:48 PM
KICK OFF: Stoke City get us under way....
    8/15/2015 1:59:51 PM
2 mins: Walker charges down the right flank and draws a foul from Arnautovic. An early chance for the hosts from a set piece here.
    8/15/2015 2:01:07 PM
3 mins: Eriksen's whipped ball in is poor, but it's only half cleared and Spurs are back in possession. Pochettino isn't happy on the sidelines.
    8/15/2015 2:01:52 PM
4 mins: Stoke have't really been able to get their foot on the ball yet. It's been all Spurs, who have been knocking it around confidently.
    8/15/2015 2:04:26 PM

7 mins: Dembele cuts in from the right and finds Kane before two Stoke defenders collide and the ball breaks kindly to Eriksen, who fizzes a drive towards goal, but Butland is equal to it and parries it away for a corner. The set piece comes to nothing.
    8/15/2015 2:06:59 PM
8 mins: There's a coming together on the edge of the area and Eriksen has his first chance to shoot from a set piece. The Danish midfielder bends one around the wall but all credit to Butland, who claws it away. Chants of England's number one ring out from the away end.
    8/15/2015 2:08:53 PM
Stoke seem to be taking shape in a 4-1-4-1 formation with Diouf as the focal point in attack and Whelan the midfield shield.
    8/15/2015 2:10:47 PM
11 mins: Lloris is too cool on the ball and his pass is cut out, which lands straight at the feet of Diouf. Fortunately for the Frenchman, the striker's shot is tame and he parries it away. That was a let off.
    8/15/2015 2:13:21 PM
What is it with the best goalkeepers in the division having shaky starts this season?
    8/15/2015 2:14:04 PM
GOAL: Eric Dier nods home for Spurs!
    8/15/2015 2:19:04 PM
Tottenham take a deserved lead as Dier rises highest and heads past Butland. That's been coming for the hosts, who have been on top.
    8/15/2015 2:21:33 PM
22 mins: Walker is turned inside out by Arnautovic but seems to get back at his opposite number and win the ball. Not according to the referee, who blows up for a foul. The home crowd didn't like that one bit.
    8/15/2015 2:24:02 PM
Little fact for you - Dier has scored three Premier League goals for Tottenham and they've all come in the month of August.
    8/15/2015 2:25:43 PM
27 mins: Arnautoivc has started brightly for Stoke. His battle with Walker is an intriguing one and it's the Englishman that's starting to struggle. Afellay has been quiet, while Diouf has had to live off scraps so far.
    8/15/2015 2:28:27 PM

    8/15/2015 2:29:31 PM
Crouchie gets a lot of love as he trots down the touchline to warm up. Adam is alongside him, who gets a tirade of abuse. He's really got the Spurs fans' goat.
    8/15/2015 2:30:55 PM

33 mins: Kane blasts the ball into the back of the net but play is called back for offside. It looked very close, perhaps the striker was just about leaning into an offside position?
    8/15/2015 2:33:13 PM
37 mins: Eriksen floats an inch perfect ball over the top of the Stoke defence and Chadli is onto it like a flash. The big Belgian's first touch lets him down and Butland comes out to smother him. He had to do better there.
    8/15/2015 2:37:47 PM
40 mins: Chadli has controlled the ball perfectly twice in the last couple of minutes. Shame it deserted him when it mattered. Arnautovic, who has been Stoke's brightest spark, wriggles his way through a challenge but his cross shot from a tight angle flies past the post.
