53 min: Mata puts the ball just wide when one-on-one with the keeper. The Spain international was offside in any case.

59 min: You have to love South American keepers. Orozco comes out of his box, chests it down before playing it to a team-mate. Great stuff.

62 min: Absolutely no pressure from Monterrey on Chelsea. It was supposed to be the Blues who were jet-lagged, but you would think it was the team from Mexico who have been missing out on sleep looking at this. Lampard looks set to come on.

64 min: Lampard is on - and he gets an incredible reception from the Japanese crowd. Luiz is off. The question now is will he get a chance to put goal-line technology to the test?

67 min: Good work from Mata and Hazard down the right hand side ends with a chance for Lampard. The England international strikes a pull back first time from the edge of the box. But vintage this is not - he miss hits it and the ball bobbles wide.

71 min: Better from Cardozo here as he hold the ball up in the box before teeing it up from Delgado. It's a decent effort low to Cech's left but the Chelsea keeper is down to it to collect.

75 min: Whatever De Nigris can do, Corona can do worse. The winger finds space inside the box but hoofs it into the half-empty stands.

78 min: Substitute Ferreira storms forward but can only stand on the foot of a Monterrey defender. Free-kick to the Mexicans.

81 min: We're into the final 10 minutes. Let's have another goal please.

83 min: That said - the Mexicans went very close there with Cech forced to block the ball away after a dangerous attack down the right.

85 min: Moses is offside from a Cech clearance. That's his second offside in less than a minute. Wake up Moses!

88 min: Lampard strikes from range. It's a good connection but just over the bar. I think everyone was wanting it to hit the underside of the bar and just cross the line - give that goal-technology a work out.

90 min: Monterrey still looking to attack but it's all just a bit slow and Chelsea look comfortable dealing with it.

Juan Mata put the English side ahead in the first half before two quick goals at the start of the second half ensured the win.

Fernando Torres will claim the second goal - although it took an almighty deflection. Chelsea's third was an own goal from Chavez after good work from Torres.

Monterrey pulled one back - but the 91st minute strike from De Nigris was too late to matter.

Chelsea will now play the champions of South America, Brazilian side Corinthians in Sunday's final.
