Welcome to The Independent's live coverage of tonight's Champions League games.
We'll be focusing on Manchester United v Braga but also keeping you updated on all the other matches taking place this evening including Shakhtar Donetsk v Chelsea and Barcelona v Celtic.
Fergie has rested Rio Ferdinand and Patrice Evra for this match as he keeps one eye on the weekend fixture v Chelsea. Rooney and Van Persie start though.
Speaking to ITV Alex Ferguson is predicting an open game and says he thinks Braga are a better team away from home. Their results so far back that up. They lost at home to Cluj before bouncing back with a win against Galatasaray in Turkey.
One result from earlier tonight. Spartak Moscow beat Benfica 2-1.
We're just a few minutes away from kick-off in tonight's Champions Leagye matches.
Javier Hernandez makes a rare start for Unite tonight in an attacking looking line-up that also has Rooney, RVP and Kagawa in it.
We're off in tonight's matches...
Early corner for Braga at Old Trafford. Useless delivery though.
GOAL! Silence at Old Trafford as Braga take the lead!
Such a simple goal for Braga with Alan scoring the goal for the visitors with his head.
United look to hit straight back. And they nearly do. Deep corner is headed back by Rooney but Carrick can't get enough on it.
GOAL! Chelsea are 1-0 down in Donetsk with Shakhtar taking an early lead.
Very flat atmosphere at Old Trafford right now. The fans seem stunned by that early goal.
Who would have guessed that of the three British teams in action tonight Celtic would be the last to concede?
Rooney brings it down wonderfully in the box for Manchester United but he can't get a cross over.
Buttner appeals for a free-kick down the left hand side but the referee's not interested in that.
RVP looks to find Kagawa with a fine ball but the Japanese international is offside.
Braga venture forward - United look a little week at the back, not helped by the absence of Evra and Rio Ferdinand.
Still all square at the Nou Camp where Celtic are playing Barcelona.
Carrick plays a ball into the box and RVP is free. He looks to flick it on towards goal but the keeper is able to deal with it. You can only hear the Braga fans inside Old Trafford right now.
GOAL! The deadlock is broken at the Nou Camp - and Celtic are ahead!
GOAL! Manchester United are 2-0 down! Alan again for Braga.
Dreadful defending from United. Carrick is easily rolled as Braga make it to the byline and it's pulled back for Alan, whom Jonny Evans gets nowhere close to, to slot in.
The goal for Celtic has been awarded as an own goal to Mascherano.
So United 2-0 down and Celtic 1-0 up - wonder what the odds would have been on that at this stage?
Braga come again and they're looking by far the better team right now.
Elsewhere in United's group, Cluj are 1-0 up against Galatasaray.
GOAL! Manchester United are straight back with a goal for Javier Hernandez. 1-2.
Great work from RVP who is fouled but the referee allows play to go on. Kagawa picks it up and crosses it to the back post where Hernandez nods in. We're 25 minutes in and we've had three goals already. Who said the group stage was boring?
RVP goes cloe for United. A lovely ball from captain Rooney which is controlled by the Dutchman inside the box - he swivels but his effort is wide of the target.
Braga come close to restoring their two goal advantage. Poor defending again from United as a corner comes in but after a bit of ping-pong it's cleared.
Nearly 2-2. Fine work again from RVP who puts the ball across the six-yard box after some smart one-touch football but Hernandez doesn't get enough on it.
Celtic currently lead at the Nou Camp - bit of confusion over whether the goal will be given to Samaras or be marked down as an own goal from Mascherano.
