  • Just under 10 minutes to go. Make sure you get your vote in before kick-off. As it stands, 50% of you think one team will miss out on qualification from the group stages. The question is, who?

  • Manchester United manager is hoping that his side are quick out of the blocks, having gone behind in a number of recent games and forcing a comeback. The players are in the tunnel and we're not far off getting underway.

  • The new Irish management combination of Martin O'Neill and former United captain Roy Keane

  • Conditions are wet and windy - it's like being at home! Here we go...
    11/5/2013 7:45:09 PM
  • 1 mins: The match is underway!
    11/5/2013 7:45:30 PM
  • 1 mins: Inigo Martinez takes an early knock, as he catches a stray elbow from Hernandez on the side of the head. No malice or intent, and Martinez is good to continue.
    11/5/2013 7:46:36 PM
  • 3 mins: Valencia is looking to get into the game early, and there's a lot of pressure coming down the United right-flank. The Ecuadorian sends in a swinging cross, but it's easily dealt with.
    11/5/2013 7:48:07 PM
  • 4 mins: Sociedad react well and enjoy some possession on the right of the United box. Manchester City have already gone in front via a Sergio Aguero penalty.
    11/5/2013 7:49:44 PM
  • 65 mins: CHANCE...POST! Young and van Persie make an instant impact, as Kagawa - who is now playing centrally - finds Young on the right. His first-time delivery runs through to van persie at the back post, and he cracks it against the post with the goal at his mercy.
    11/5/2013 9:07:14 PM
  • 67 mins: United getting into the swing of things now, with van Persie nearly latching onto the end of a long ball with just Bravo to beat. Bayern Munich have finally scored against Viktoria Plzen through Mario Mandzukic, and Fernando Llorente has equalised for Juventus, making it 2-2.
    11/5/2013 9:09:27 PM
  • 68 mins: PENALTY TO UNITED!
    11/5/2013 9:10:06 PM
  • 69 mins: SAVED!!!
    11/5/2013 9:10:52 PM
  • 69 mins: Confusion in the box as a yellow card is shown, and it's because Bergara tugs back Young on the edge of the area. Not much in it at all, and Young's reputation of going down rather easy will once again come to the fore. However, what looks like a brilliant save from Bravo to his left from van Persie shot actually hits the post, before being cleared to safety. Pardo has gone off for Xabi Prieto.
    11/5/2013 9:13:39 PM
  • 73 mins: United are still on the attack though, with Kagawa becoming more influential in the middle. Penalty at City, and it's Doumbia again for CSKA to make it 4-2. Game back on?
    11/5/2013 9:14:56 PM
  • 75 mins: Vela tries a long range effort which is deflected out for a corner. They take it quickly to tru and catch out the United defence, and it works as Prieto has the ball in the box. He lashes a shot that is just wide, but Vela attempts to chest it in. It's not far wide at all, and that'll be a serious wake-up call for United.
    11/5/2013 9:17:24 PM
  • 77 mins: Sociedad break from a United corner, and Vela attempts to chip through for Castro to run on unopposed. Ferdinand makes a vital interception though, heading the ball toward De Gea, but the keeper spills it towards Castro, before re-gathering the ball just before Castro can get a shot away.
    11/5/2013 9:19:27 PM
  • 90+2 mins: Into the second of three minutes of added time, and United's 10-men are sitting back. A late chance here for Sociedad, as Prieto finds Seferevic who has to hit it first time. He doesn't and Smalling closes him down, forcing him to shoot into the side netting.
    11/5/2013 9:34:24 PM
  • 90+3 mins: That's it. It ends 0-0 here in Spain and United will leave with a point.
    11/5/2013 9:35:03 PM
  • Full-time: Well, I wish I could say something nice about that game, but the best I can find is at least the second half was an improvement. The first 45 was rather dire from both sides, and the game briefly came to life in the second when van Persie and Young were introduced. The sight of van Persie missing a penalty was a shock to the system, although Fellaini's eventual red card wasn't. And as I type, City have added a fifth and final goal to beat CSKA 5-2 and ensure their qualification to the next stage of the Champions League for the first time, with Begredo getting his hat-trick in the final minute.
    11/5/2013 9:38:02 PM
  • Group A: No goals at all in Group A with a goalless draw between Shakhtar Donestk and Bayer Leverkusen, which means United stay top and can qualify for the last 16 with a win against Leverkusen next time out.

Group B: Real Madrid were held to a 2-2 draw with Juventus which means mathematically they aren't through just yet, but they may as well be. FC Copenhagen secure a win against Galatasaray to leap-frog from fourth to second, with Juventus slipping to bottom of the group despite picking up a point tonight.

Group C: 10-man Anderlecht hold PSG to a 1-1 draw, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic pulling the Group C leaders level after slipping behind to a De Zeeuw effort. Olympiacos held on against Benfica to move into second place outright and take the driving seat in terms of qualification.

Group D: Manchester City ensure their progression to the first knockout round with an emphatic 5-2 victory over CSKA Moscow. Bayern Munich held on to a 1-0 win over Plzen which means they are also through, and they may as well call off the remaining Group D fixtures as CSKA look certain to secure third place.
