  • There's a lot of football to be played in this game.

You're not wrong there Lee Dixon. About 45 minutes to be exact.
    4/30/2013 7:41:43 PM
  • 46 min: We're off for the second 45 minutes (or "a lot of football" as Lee Dixon would put it). Can Real do it? This is gonna be one incredible half if they can...
    4/30/2013 7:48:00 PM
  • 4/30/2013 7:48:36 PM
  • 47 min: Real win a corner right from the off - that's more like it. But then give away a free-kick - that's not like it.
    4/30/2013 7:49:43 PM
  • 49 min: WHAT A MISS! The ball comes to Lewandowski in the box and with space and time he opts to shoot first time and gets it all wrong.
    4/30/2013 7:52:32 PM
  • 51 min: OFF THE BAR! Lewandowski has another chance straight away. He wallops it from eight yards out but sees it crash off the underside of the bar. Just in case you were wondering - yes, this is the bloke that scored four last week.
    4/30/2013 7:53:58 PM
  • 55 min: Is Higuain the most frustrating footballer in Europe? He's either offside or just short of getting on the end of a great ball forward. Benzema and Kaka are on the bench.
    4/30/2013 7:57:18 PM
  • Literally have no idea what these tweets mean, but I'm almost certain they confirm what I was just saying...

    4/30/2013 7:58:40 PM
  • 58 min: Here come Benzema and Kaka. Coentrao and Higuain are the two to go off. Me and Mourinho - what's that about great minds think alike?
    4/30/2013 8:00:27 PM
  • 61 min: If Dortmund had some sleeping bags and were cooking marshmallows on an open fire, they would literally be camping in their own half right now. As it is, they're doing it in the football sense of the word.
    4/30/2013 8:03:31 PM
  • 63 min: WHAT A SAVE! Dortmund look certain to put the tie beyond Real but Lopez dives across his goal to deny them.
    4/30/2013 8:05:42 PM
  • 66 min: Ramos thrown to the floor by Reus. If there's anyone that deserves it though, it's Ramos. The Real Madrid defender has been up to his usual dirty tricks all night.
    4/30/2013 8:09:51 PM
  • 71 min: Chance for Ronaldo. On the edge of the box he stabs at it with his toe but it goes over the bar. Cue a lot of gesturing and pointing.
    4/30/2013 8:13:19 PM
  • 72 min: We haven't seem a goal in 70 minutes. Just to remind you - we need to see three in the last 20. Kaka just went close.
    4/30/2013 8:14:45 PM
  • Some say Ronaldo is better than Messi. If they were talking about complaining, they weren't wrong.

    4/30/2013 8:15:11 PM
  • 76 min: Alonso, who went off for Khedira, can be seen shouting instructions from the sidelines. Presumably something along the lines of "do better than I did when I was on the pitch". Only, in Spanish.
    4/30/2013 8:18:29 PM
  • 78 min: While Lewandowski raised his value by a good £10m with last week's performance, it would appear he's doing everything to make himself a bit more affordable when the bidding war for his services starts this summer. Another great chance missed by the Poland international.
    4/30/2013 8:20:25 PM
  • 79 min: HANDBALL! JUST OUTSIDE THE PENALTY AREA! NOT GIVEN! Howard Webb waves away the pleas but that was a decent shout for a free-kick from Real Madrid.
    4/30/2013 8:21:48 PM
  • 81 min: We need to see three goals in 10 minutes. I'm going to go out on a limb and say I think Borussia Dortmund can book their hotel in London for next month's final.
    4/30/2013 8:24:13 PM
  • 83 min: GOAL! Benzema scores for Real Madrid after a fine overlap run by Ozil who puts it into the centre for the Frenchman to smash in from a yard out.
    4/30/2013 8:25:33 PM
  • 85 min: So could my earlier post have tempted fate? It feels like the Bernabeu has just woken up. Great atmosphere and just a sniff of belief. Ramos goes close with a header.
    4/30/2013 8:27:52 PM
  • 87 min: Real all over Dortmund as you would expect. The visitors try to slow things down by taking off Lewandowski.
    4/30/2013 8:29:37 PM
  • 89 min: GOAL! Ramos scores for Real Madrid! Wow! The defender rifles it into the roof of the net from just a few yards out. Crazy scenes in the Bernabeu.
    4/30/2013 8:31:13 PM
  • 90 min: Are we witnessing the greatest comeback of all time. Perhaps. But Real need one more...
    4/30/2013 8:32:32 PM
  • 90 + 2 min: Confusion over the amount of injury time - as in we haven't been informed how much there is.
    4/30/2013 8:35:03 PM
  • 90 + 3 min: As many minutes as Real need perhaps? Real win a corner but Ramos can only head just wide.
    4/30/2013 8:35:54 PM
  • 90 + 4 min: It looks like five minutes of added time.
    4/30/2013 8:36:18 PM
  • 90 + 5 min: Oh no... Essien with a shocking ball forward. There's still time though.
    4/30/2013 8:37:33 PM
  • FT: Ronaldo hits the deck and there are claims for a penalty - but he was never getting that. Webb blows for full time. Dortmund have done it... just.
    4/30/2013 8:39:33 PM
  • FT: Wow. That's the only word that comes to mind after that. After squandering chance after chance Real finally found the back of the net in the final stages. First Benzema and then Ramos and it set up a crazy end to the game. But the home side just couldn't find the third goal they needed.
    4/30/2013 8:41:47 PM
  • FT: A truly fantastic effort by Real. But it should be noted Dortmund wasted a host of chances - particularly Lewandowski. On another night it might have been 5-5. As it was it was 2-0 to Real Madrid. A fine result, but not enough to save them from exiting the Champions League.
    4/30/2013 8:43:30 PM
  • FT: So Dortmund are in the final. And they could be joined by Bayern Munich who will surely progress past Barcelona tomorrow night. Those Borussia fans better be snappy about getting their beach towels down at Wembley.
    4/30/2013 8:44:50 PM
  • Benzema scores Real Madrid's first after 83 mins.

    4/30/2013 8:46:00 PM
  • Ramos dares to believe after putting Real within a goal of the final after 89 mins.

    4/30/2013 8:47:38 PM
  • 2-0 was not enough for Real Madrid and Cristiano Ronaldo and his side exit the Champions League.

    4/30/2013 8:49:00 PM
  • Jurgen Klopp looks chuffed after just about averting a heart attack.

    4/30/2013 8:54:41 PM
  • FT: That's it, thanks for joining me for tonight's extraordinary game. I think the picture below sums it up better than I ever could. Good night.
