Champions League LIVE

  • Manchester United sub: Marouane Fellaini ON, Bastian Schweinsteiger OFF
    11/25/2015 8:59:57 PM
  • Manchester United sub: Ashley Young ON, Memphis Depay OFF
    11/25/2015 9:00:16 PM
  • PSV Eindhoven sub: Jorrit Hendrix OFF, Nicolas Isimat-Mirin ON
    11/25/2015 9:01:55 PM
  • 59 min: Will the changes spark life into United? We'll wait and see.

Hendrix is PSV's 'Substitute'. Shame that's a Who song.
    11/25/2015 9:03:18 PM
  • 61 min: PSV chance! Superb show of skill from Propper, who keeps the ball in mid-air with three touches on the half-volley, before firing at De Gea's goal.

The Spaniard is comfortably behind his shot but the Dutchman's flair sent Old Trafford into a flutter for a second there.
    11/25/2015 9:05:17 PM
  • 64 min: Predictably, with Fellaini on the field, United have started peppering PSV's penalty area with crosses from deep.

In order for that tactic to work though, you'd think they'd make sure the big Belgian was in the mixer. Instead, he's hanging around in midfield, much to chagrin of co-commentator Robbie Savage as well as the Old Trafford crowd.
    11/25/2015 9:08:59 PM
  • 68 min: PSV break! Rooney's indecision allow Guardado to burst forward and the pacey Mexican switches the play to De Jong, who then plays in Locadia.

The Dutch side are 3-on-3, United are in real danger and the PSV frontman has options. He chooses to hopelessly fire wide.
    11/25/2015 9:12:20 PM
  • 72 min: Just as they did in the first half, PSV are growing into the game. First Arias gets in behind the defence, only to see his cross blocked.

It's not long before the Dutch side have the ball back after robbing Schweinsteiger in midfield and Propper's powerful strike is palmed down by De Gea.
    11/25/2015 9:14:56 PM
  • 74 min: Lingard should score! Big opportunity but the youngster can't take it.

He fires over on the half-volley, leaning too far back, after Ashley Young's hard work had allowed the ball to be clipped onto his right foot.

As impressive as the 22-year-old's been in recent weeks, his final product needs work.
    11/25/2015 9:16:45 PM
  • 78 min: Can United find a goal? After Wolfsburg's win earlier, Van Gaal's men may well need a victory against the Bundesliga side when they visit them in a fortnight's time to ensure qualification.

Unless, that is, they break the deadlock here.
    11/25/2015 9:21:43 PM
  • 79 min: Juan Mata's been sent to jog down the touchline. His imminent introduction will not stop a few hundred home fans from heading for the exits. Another uninspiring night of football at Old Trafford so far.
    11/25/2015 9:23:53 PM
  • 80 min: It's still Juventus 1-0 Manchester City in Turin. Interestingly, Joe Hart has been replaced there, with Willy Caballero joining in for the last ten minutes.
    11/25/2015 9:25:20 PM
  • 81 min: My word, Marouane Fellaini. He meets the ball at the back post but somehow manages the volley it behind him.

In fairness, he seemed to be having his shirt pulled but it invited a lot of groans from those left in Old Trafford.
    11/25/2015 9:26:39 PM
  • Manchester United sub: Juan Mata ON, Matteo Darmian OFF
    11/25/2015 9:26:55 PM
  • 87 min: Usually, you'd expect a team to go hell for leather in search of a goal in situations like these. Nobody, however, who's watched Louis van Gaal's Manchester United regularly should be surprised at its pedestrian pace, even in these closing stages.

This team simply isn't built to go for broke. That's ironic, because more and more often nowadays, they need to.
    11/25/2015 9:32:07 PM

  • Three minutes added time
    11/25/2015 9:32:53 PM
  • 90+1min: Even now, PSV are looking the more likely. They've had an extended spell of possession on the halfway line but their attempts to play the ball in behind United's backline aren't paying off.
    11/25/2015 9:34:39 PM
  • FULL-TIME

    Manchester United 0-0 PSV Eindhoven

    Juventus 1-0 Manchester City
    11/25/2015 9:35:39 PM
  • What to say about that? An uninspiring night of Champions League action from both clubs but particularly Manchester United, who lacked ambition and purpose, despite qualification offered to them on a plate.

PSV, while dangerous, posed little threat for much of the game but United barely attempted to take advantage. Some might blame Jesse Lingard for his miss. He should've scored but, at the same time, it shouldn't have been the one clear opportunity created by the home side.
