  • Bayern Munich v Barcelona
25 min: 1-0 Bayern Munich - Thomas Muller scores with a low header from close range
HT: 1-0 Bayern Munich - home side on top with Robben in particular playing well
49min: 2-0 Bayern Munich - Mario Gomez doubles his side's lead, again from a corner
73min: 3-0 Bayern Munich - Arjen Robben scores a much deserved goal although Alba appeared to be taken out in the build up
82min: 4-0 Bayern Munich - Thomas Muller has his second goal, again from close range and Barcelona look finished

  • The Independent's Jack Pitt-Brooke at the Allianz Arena:
Well deserved 1-0 HT lead for Bayern. Far more purposeful, assertive and incisive. Robben, Ribery, Schweini, Dante etc all doing work. Jack Pitt-Brooke via Twitter at 8:30 PM

  • So can Barcelona come back after their poor first half? We'll find out in the next 45 mins. The players are back out and play is nearly underway.
    4/23/2013 7:46:21 PM
  • 46 min

Early yellow card for Bayern and Barcelona have started more brightly. Alexis Sanchez slips a clever backheeled through ball into the path of Iniesta but it's called (incorrectly) offside.

    4/23/2013 7:48:42 PM
  • 48 min

More claims for handball from Bayern players as a clever chipped through ball appears to go out off the arm of Bartra.
    4/23/2013 7:49:55 PM
  • GOAL! 2-0 Bayern Munich

It doesn't matter about the penalty because Mario Gomez has scored from the resulting corner. Barcelona in deep trouble now.
    4/23/2013 7:50:52 PM
  • 51 min

Replays may suggest that Gomez was off side when he scored but the German nearly adds to his tally with a shot inside the area but he drags it wide. "He's done well to miss that" says Andy Townsend. Not entirely true.
    4/23/2013 7:53:40 PM
  • 54 min

Bayern are rampant here, Robben makes yet another great run down the right before making one of his trademark cut ins. Uncharacteristically he passes the ball on to Ribery who's driving shot just goes wide of the Barcelona goal.

  • The Independent's Jack Pitt-Brooke at the Allianz Arena:
Like Milan away in the L16, Barcelona look like they might not create anything. Jack Pitt-Brooke via Twitter at 8:44 PM

  • 57 min

Barcelona have another set piece to defend this time a free kick out on the left. Schweinsteiger drives the ball in and it goes over the head of Dante but finds Robben free at the far post but he can't direct his header goalwards. That was another good chance for the home side.
    4/23/2013 7:59:36 PM
  • 59 min

Barcelona have a small spell of possession but it's fairly ineffective and Bayern get it back and then counter through Robben. Ironically it was crying out for him to be selfish but the dutchman passes and Valdes sweeps up his through ball at the back.
    4/23/2013 8:01:19 PM
  • 61 min

Bayern, Bayern ring out the chants around the Allianz Arena but Barcelona are beginning to string a few passes together dangerously. Alba gets the ball in the area on the left but can only scuff a cross in  and Dante can clear. Barcelona getting into the game a bit more now.

  • 62 min

Messi has been quiet so far and it's difficult to tell whether he is fully fit although his talismanic cameo appearance worthy of El Cid against PSG, it was difficult for Vilanova to leave him out.
    4/23/2013 8:04:49 PM

  • Lionel Messi is clearly not fit. He has no business on the pitch today. Ayodele Odumade via Twitter at 9:03 PM

Messi shouldn't be playing, you can see he's not fit at all Jamie via Twitter at 9:03 PM

Looks like Bayern could be goin' through to the final. I've never seen Messi play so bad. I know he's not match-fit but still, it's Messi!!! Aaron Dwyer via Twitter at 9:04 PM

  • 65 min

Clever work from Muller in the box but Iniesta does well to get back and clear and Barcelona try to push forward. Pedro has the ball wide on the left, linking up with Alba and there is more intent to Barcelona now.
    4/23/2013 8:07:03 PM
  • 67 min

Bayern Munich look set to make the first change with Luis Gustavo set to come on for Javi Martinez, presumably to protect the Spaniard who picked up a yellow card earlier.
    4/23/2013 8:08:47 PM
  • 68 min

First glimpse of the 'real' Messi as he wins a corner with some clever footwork inside the area. The ball makes its way to Bartra who has a good chance to score but can only hit it at Neuer. Bayern have a chance on the counter but Barcelona get back just in time. Corner to Bayern.
    4/23/2013 8:10:22 PM
  • 70 min

SUB: Luis Gustavo comes on but not for Martinez as expected but instead for Gomez. Interesting move from the Bayern coach.
    4/23/2013 8:11:41 PM
  • Mario Gomez scores Bayern's second

    4/23/2013 8:12:35 PM
  • 72 min - GOAL! 3-0 Bayern Munich

Controversy at the Allianz Arena. Arjen Robben is the goal scorer but Barcelona are furious as they think Jordi Alba was taken out in the build up to the goal. Great work though from the dutchman inside the area, who slid the ball across Valdes from the right into the left hand corner of the Barcelona goal.
    4/23/2013 8:14:51 PM
  • 76 min

Barcelona should have a goal back. A clever ball from a free kick finds Bartra alone in the box but he spins the wrong way and blasts the ball harmlessly over the box. The young defender has wasted two good chances now.
    4/23/2013 8:17:54 PM
  • 79 min

Barcelona need to score here if they are to have any chance of staying in this tie but they just can't put any passes together. In fact they nearly go four goals down, Muller makes a good run forward and cleverly cuts back in the area but Valdes comes out smartly and just gets his chest to it to keep it out. A booming shot from Robben on the rebound is blocked as well.
    4/23/2013 8:21:22 PM
  • 80 min

Surprisingly no subs yet from Barcelona. Pizarro warming up for Bayern.
    4/23/2013 8:21:59 PM
  • GOAL! 4-0 Bayer Munich

Bayern are surely on their way to Wembley. Thomas Muller scores his second of the night after some good work from Alaba down the left, his ball across the face of goal gives Barcelona no chance and Muller smashes the ball in. That's it for the German international, he's replaced immediately by ex-Chelsea striker Claudio Pizarro.
    4/23/2013 8:23:56 PM
  • 86 min

David Villa replaces Pedro for Barcelona but they still can't find away through Bayern and the imperious Robben breaks forward once again, winning a free kick when Sanchez gives him a slight shirt pull.
    4/23/2013 8:27:59 PM
  • 87 min

Last sub from Bayern and it's Ribery who will be replaced by Xherdan Shaqiri. Silly stuff then from Alba who earns a yellow card for throwing the ball lightly into the face of his side's chief tormentor Robben. Heynckes stops Ribery from getting involved off the bench - how times change, a year ago he punched Robben at half time in their Champions League semi final!
    4/23/2013 8:31:46 PM
  • 91 min

The oles go up from the Bayern crowd and Barcelona are looking very ragged now. Iniesta gives away a free kick and a yellow card for a cynical ankle clip.
    4/23/2013 8:32:47 PM
  • 92 min

Robben nearly adds another goal but his shot clips Bartra and goes out for another corner.
    4/23/2013 8:33:49 PM
  • FULL TIME - Bayern Munich 4-0 Barcelona

Bayern don't have time for the corner though as the referee blows for full time! Bayern have secured a huge win here in Munich. What a result for Heynckes side who have thrashed the highly vaunted Spaniards. Pictures and your reactions coming up.
