    Murray's service getting stronger as the match wears on, averaging 160kph in that game. More grimacing on Murray's face though, which has been zoomed in on the big screens around the Rod Laver Arena after every point, but he keeps on fighting. This is the biggest test for his troubled back, which he had surgery on late last year.

    It started to look like another rapid service hold from Federer, but Murray recovered, taking it to 40-30 before Federer saw out the game. While both men are tiring, Murray also looks to be battling through the pain barrier and has lost some of his mobility.

    Federer tees up his serve on match point...aces...and it's all over. A truly absorbing contest between two greats of the sport. Credit to Murray for his fightback against an opponent who looked as sharp as he did eight years ago. A phenomenal range of shots, he adapted to every test and another challenge against one of his old foes, Rafael Nadal, awaits on Friday.
