  • Welcome to Day Four at The Oval where unfortunately all the covers are on and there is a very light drizzle coming down. Play will not be starting on time and at the moment there is no indication when it will.

  • It's fair to say yesterday was not the most thrilling day's play - although the crowd did manage to construct the largest beer snake of the Test so far (as seen below)

  • However yesterday's plastic glass serpent was nothing compared to the monster that was constructed at the Old Trafford Test match..

  • Still no update about when play might start, although it is starting to brighten up a little - however the rain radar looks pretty grim...

  • There was just a big downpour but now there almost seems to be some sun trying to burn through the clouds - no word yet though on when and if we'll get any play I'm afraid.
    8/24/2013 11:40:05 AM
  • UPDATE: It's still drizzling...

  • Some fans enjoying their day at the cricket...

  • The rain briefly stopped and for possibly 10-15 glorious minutes it seemed like we might get some play here.... Unfortunately it has now returned and I'm quite doubtful that we will see a ball bowled.

  • It's still vaguely raining here. A man dressed as a lobster is being chased by 12 men dressed as chefs. Apart from that not much to report.

  • The main action of the day so far...

  • Well... The rain is coming down pretty hard now and play looks almost certain to be called off any minute now. However things briefly were made interesting by somebody proposing to their girlfriend on the big screen - fortunately she said yes. Still no cricket though.
    8/24/2013 3:01:33 PM
  • PLAY ABANDONED FOR THE DAY - It is absolutely pouring down now.
