Andy Murray vs Roger Federer - Wimbledon semi-final live

  • Hello and welcome to live coverage of Day 11 at the All England Club.

It's a massive day on Centre Court with Andy Murray bidding to reach Sunday's final. Standing in his way is Roger Federer, who has been imperious in this tournament up until now, dropping just one set and being pushed to a tiebreak only once.

Before Murray gets his turn on Centre Court, top seed Novak Djokovic will face Frenchman Richard Gasquet, the No 21 seed, who shocked French Open winner Stan Wawrinka on Wednesday - they start the action at 1pm.

  • Djokovic-Gasquet goes to a tie-break...

  • Well that tie break was a bit easier than the games that preceded it. Djokovic takes the first set, 7-6 (6-2)

  • We're back after a slight internet failure at Indy towers. The modem hadn't been dialed up, I believe.

Anyway. Djokovic again broke Gasquet's first service game and is now 2-1 up and serving to take a commanding lead. The Frenchman has shown a bit of fight and has taken the Serb to deuce. Djokovic takes it to go 3-1 ahead.
    7/10/2015 1:25:42 PM
  • There's the second set for Djokovic who takes it 6-4.

He's showing way too much class for No 21 seed Gasquet, happy to just break a game and back his own serve to see him through. Djokovic did have to see the trainer a couple of times during the set, his shoulder getting a bit of a seeing to.

Something to keep an eye on, although it doesn't look like it's bothering him too much.
    7/10/2015 1:53:19 PM
  • This is slightly delayed as we're still having issues with our internet.

But the not so breaking news is that Djokovic has won 7-6 (7/2) 6-4 6-4 against Gasquet and is into the Wimbledon final.

The countdown to Andy Murray begins now.

  • The pair are now at the net for a chat with the match umpire and a quick bit of rallying to get the muscles loose. Not long now...

  • Here we go Roger Federer to serve first!
    7/10/2015 3:16:19 PM
  • LATEST SCORE: Murray 0-1 Federer*

Federer made a quick start with two impressive forehands on the first two points before Murray won three straight to get a break point, just the fourth break point Federer has faced this championship.

But the Swiss didn't make a mistake, serving two aces in a row and then another brilliant serve that Murray couldn't return to win the game.

  • LATEST SCORE: Murray* 1-1 Federer

Excellent service game for Murray, who drops just one point in that game. His serve came out fast in that one as well, up above 120mph.
    7/10/2015 3:22:20 PM
  • LATEST SCORE: Murray 1-2 Federer*

Federer holds again and there is some really high class stuff already out on show. Murray hit an absolutely superb backhand to somehow win a point but Federer's serve is being put in some unplayable parts of the court. Murray is struggling to get a lot of them back.

    7/10/2015 3:25:50 PM
  • LATEST SCORE: Murray* 2-2 Federer

Murray holds his serve. He's really hammering his forehands back at the Swiss, who just slips on game point and over hits his return.
    7/10/2015 3:28:27 PM
  • LATEST SCORE: Murray 2-3 Federer*

Very quick game from Fed whose service has been excellent so far.
    7/10/2015 3:30:03 PM
  • LATEST SCORE: Murray* 3-3 Federer

This one is starting to warm up very, very nicely. Lovely couple of rallies in amongst that game but Murray hangs on.

The Scot is yet to approach the net in this one so far.
    7/10/2015 3:35:14 PM
  • LATEST SCORE: Murray 3-4 Federer*

Another quick-sh Federer game who has been extremely accurate with his first serve.
    7/10/2015 3:36:53 PM
  • LATEST SCORE: Murray* 4-4 Federer

I think we're going to be here a while. The pair are serving with such ferocity that the receiver is barely able to send over a return of any note. Murray takes that game losing just a point. Every set will go to a tiebreak at this rate.
    7/10/2015 3:41:35 PM
  • Wimbledon 2015: Novak Djokovic into Sunday's final after easing past Richard Gasquet

The IndependentDefending champion Novak Djokovic eased into his fourth Wimbledon final by ending the defiant run of 21st seed Richard Gasquet by 7-6, 6-4, 6-4, each set becoming a little more straightforward than the previous one.
    7/10/2015 3:42:04 PM
  • LATEST SCORE: Murray 4-5 Federer*

Yep, that prediction is looking pretty accurate. Federer has got 86 per cent of his first serves in - how are you meant to break a serve with that??
    7/10/2015 3:44:07 PM
  • LATEST SCORE: Murray* 5-5 Federer

And on it goes.... Murray holds. Crowd going wild.
    7/10/2015 3:47:02 PM
  • LATEST SCORE: Murray 5-6 Federer*

Federer wins another game but what a match we have on our hands, some absolutely gorgeous tennis being played by both men. Murray won a point there off a long rally that was just beautiful to watch.

    7/10/2015 3:50:39 PM
  • LATEST SCORE: Murray* 5-7 Federer

SET FEDERER! The crowd may be very pro-Murray but they can't help applauding when Federer plays shots of extreme quality - and he's had a few so far. Two in that game alone were absolutely beautiful, one a little backhand down the line and another a massive forehand across court after second serve. Brilliant.
    7/10/2015 3:54:29 PM
  • Federer was pretty much flawless in that set; he's on than 85 per cent with his first serve and only has two unforced errors.
    7/10/2015 3:57:01 PM
  • LATEST SCORE: Murray 5-7 0-1 Federer*

Quick game again from Federer. That first serve needs to drop off if Murray is to have any chance in this one. Flawless again and he has 12 aces so far.
    7/10/2015 3:58:10 PM
  • LATEST SCORE: Murray* 5-7 1-1 Federer

Murray had to dig a little bit deeper in that game but manages to pull it back. The Scot isn't doing anything wrong here at all, he has to hope Federer drops off.
    7/10/2015 4:02:33 PM
  • LATEST SCORE: Murray 5-7 1-2 Federer*

Murray had a hint of a chance to break in that game but the Swiss came right back to finish that game strongly.
    7/10/2015 4:04:47 PM
  • LATEST SCORE: Murray* 5-7 2-2 Federer

Murray came close to being broken there and was taken to deuce. But he held on to keep his serve. That was close.
    7/10/2015 4:11:23 PM
  • LATEST SCORE: Murray 5-7 2-3 Federer*

Another hold for Federer, who keeps hitting some superb serves; Murray can't do a thing.
    7/10/2015 4:15:39 PM
  • LATEST SCORE: Murray* 5-7 3-3 Federer

Couple of aces for Murray as well as a 23-stroke (!!) rally on the first point, that was quite brilliant by the pair.

    7/10/2015 4:18:58 PM
  • LATEST SCORE: Murray 5-7 3-4 Federer*

Neither of these look like they are going to be broken. Tie break again, I predict.
    7/10/2015 4:21:41 PM
  • LATEST SCORE: Murray* 5-7 4-4 Federer

Again Federer goes close to breaking but the Scot digs very deep to claw back from 30-0 down to win the game. A couple of good first serves to put him back in the match.
    7/10/2015 4:25:23 PM
  • LATEST SCORE: Murray 5-7 4-5 Federer*

Federer is up to 16 Aces in this match - Murray has just six. The first serve accuracy is still around 80 per cent as well.

Murray is playing as well as he can - Federer is just superb at the moment.
