Anthony Martial scored a debut goal to see off Liverpool and overshadow a thunderous over-head kick by Christian Benteke.
After a dismal first half, expectations were low but Daley Blind's opener got the ball rolling on a thrilling climax. Ander Herrera made it two from the penalty spot, following a clumsy challenge by Joe Gomez, before Benteke's stunner. But today was always Martial's day and so it proved to be the case with him putting the match out of the Reds' reach.
